Is the gendered division of labour where the husband is the primary breadwinner and the wife primarily cares for the family good for fertility and childbearing? Our own Muzhi ZHOU and Man-yee KAN have recently published their exciting findings that it is only used to be the case! Traditional gender roles among couples are no longer a battier now in Great Britain, though couples do shift to traditional division of labour when children are very young.
