I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology, University of Oxford. My research interests are gender inequalities in the family and the labour market, marriage, the gender division of labour, time use research, welfare and public policy regimes in Western and East Asian societies.
My ongoing research primarily centres on three adjacent areas: the gendered division of housework in Western and East Asian countries, the issues of intersectionality as they reflect in the division of housework, and elderly care.
My research interests lie in exploring the linkages between family processes, social inequalities, and population health. In recent projects, I explore inequalities in time-use and well-being, by gender and social-class, in East Asian and Western societies
